Scope of practice: Pediatric nurse practitioner (PNP) in primary care. (n.d.)
Retrieved February 1, 2003 from http://www.napnap.org/practice/pnpscope/.

Items of interest:
The entrance criterion is that of master’s level nurse for PNP
PNP have prescriptive powers for medications, diagnostic laboratory and x-ray.
PNP are primary and sustain care relationship focused.
The content is very generic categories and curricula, which allows for great interpretation. Certification is good for 6 years with annual self-assessment exercise and sets of clinical contact hours for CME.
This article is “intended to provide a general scope of practice for PNP in primary care, but is not intended to provide a specific standard of care”.

Assessment:
Not a very useful references other than to select items that may make up a ceiling.
